Sharing my interview pivot story for other neurodivergent folks here

Posting this in case it's useful to anyone in a similar boat. After reading the Risk Efficacy chapters last fall I started explicitly framing my interview answers around the four pillars rather than around the standard "tell me about a time when" format. I'd say things like "this is a calibration story" or "this is an informed-navigation example." Two effects: (1) interviewers without the vocabulary asked good follow-up questions because the framing was unfamiliar enough to be interesting; (2) interviewers with the vocabulary basically jumped a stage. Got an offer at a company that would have screened me out a year earlier.

This is the post I needed three years ago. Stealing the framing for my next loop. Thank you.

This matches what I'm seeing in interviews I've sat in on. The vocabulary creates a shared protocol that bypasses a lot of the implicit "do they vibe right" filtering that screens out atypical candidates.

We actually train our interviewers on this exact framing now. Glad to hear it works from the candidate side too.
